Technological Surveillance

Experts agree on the identification of the main barriers to the adoption of transformative digital technologies in agriculture in Latin America. Among them they mention: i) lack of confidence of users in new technologies or in those who commercialize them, ii) lack of adequate training for its management and to understand its benefits and, iii) lack of access to credit for its implementation, legal and regulatory aspects in some countries. A fundamental component of the Digital Agriculture Observatory is that of Technological Surveillance. This section shows the data from the Observatory that allow knowing, monitoring and relating the three axes of the main barriers mentioned. The content is classified into: Existing solutions in the market for the digital transformation of agriculture (Companies, Start Ups); Existing incentives in administrations and other entities to develop or adopt such technologies; Training offered in digital technologies applied to agriculture.
